Mind-Body Medicine

boardwalk in nature.jpg

The mind-body medicine approach integrates modern medicine with practices from around the world to establish balance between the mind, body and spirit.

The programs I offer, ranging from 6-12 weeks, enable you to learn the scientific basis of mind-body medicine with a focus on whole-person health. (Note: offerings include both individual and group sessions).

You will learn to use a range of the most effective tools for self-care and stress management, some of which are outlined below.

Meditation (3 Major Types):

  • Concentrative: Consists of focused awareness on a particular object, such as an image or sound.

  • Mindfulness or Awareness: Involves being relaxed and aware of thoughts, feelings and sensations as they arise, without focusing on a particular object.

  • Expressive: Oldest kind of meditation used for thousands of years by indigenous healers from around the world. Includes active techniques such as chanting, shaking, dancing, rapid breath work, and whirling.

  • Guided Imagery

  • Biofeedback: Using Bio Squares and Stress Thermometer.

  • Autogenic Training: One of the most efficient and widely used ways to balance sympathetic
overdrive with parasympathetic relaxation is to combine simple relaxation with phrases and
images that engage the parasympathetic nervous system.

  • Genograms: A study and pictorial display of a person’s family relationships and history.

  • Breathing and Movement

  • Healthy Mindful Eating and Nutrition

  • Self-expression/Drawing

  • Spirituality and Forgiveness

  • Yoga/Chi Gong

“Rarely have I witnessed or participated in a workshop where the trainers/facilitators were so ego-less. Each person was honored, encouraged and respected for sharing their experiences, stories, questions, insights, challenges, and personal journey. A very safe place was created to facilitate our learning, exchange and participation. Great balance between listening, engaging and doing.”

The Sacred Anatomy refers to the seven systems of subtle and electromagnetic energy extending out 20 feet in all directions from your physical body. It is conscious and intelligent and holds the history of your soul’s journey. Sacred Anatomy Energy Medicine is a transformational subtle modality based on the radical premise that consciousness is anatomical. Access to this intelligence is the doorway to your personal evolutionary development, available to anyone who seeks a new and mature approach to awakening and healing.

“I have found the treatments with Regina to be a positive complement to the conventional cancer treatment I receive as well as an effective method of countering the negative side effects of that treatment. Her capabilities are superb.”

Self-Care for Caregivers: A Modernized Approach

Ocean Heart.png

Caregivers are often the last item on their own caregiving list.

These interactive sessions address ways in which caregivers regularly overlook their most important needs in the name of helping others. This all-too-common reality impacts one’s ability to be of service in the world, and often comes with exaggerated long-term costs.

You will be encouraged to identify self-care habits that may benefit from improvement and will learn new and sustainable approaches, including:

  • The definitions of being a “caregiver” (both personally and professionally).

  • How to perform a self-care assessment.

  • The definition of “compassion fatigue” and its many manifestations.

  • How to understand the signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue.

  • How to identify your own potential for growth in the practice of holistic self-care and broaden your understanding of self-care techniques.

  • Straightforward and effective self-care skills on the go, to increase sustainable self-care potential.

“Although cancer is never something one welcomes into her life, I will forever be grateful to Regina for her tremendous help in negotiating the pain, surgery and treatments.”

Holistic Integrative Bodywork

From 1998 to 2020, I enjoyed a thriving practice as a licensed and nationally certified holistic massage therapist (LCMT), specializing in a variety of techniques (including chronic pain management, sports injury, pre and post-operative support, terminal illness and cancer care) with over 25,000 hours of combined study, clinical practice and teaching.

I incorporated these and many other specialized techniques in my bodywork sessions, including Swedish massage, deep tissue and myofascial release, as well as energetic balancing and body alignment.  My integrative approach tailored sessions to the specific needs of each client.

My private practice evolved from traditional hands-on massage therapy toward focusing on change facilitation. I invited healing partnerships with clients as I assisted in their release of physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual issues presenting as blocks to homeostasis (the state of equilibrium).  This frequently resulted in a more profound healing experience than traditional massage and bodywork.

ANNOUNCEMENT

As the world continues to transition and adjust to the incredible shifts of this time, transforming how we as a global community look at issues of societal and personal health, I am answering the call to be of service in a different way!

For me, this shift is resulting in the discontinuance of my in-person body work practice

The majority of my work will now focus on helping individuals and groups recognize transformative opportunities, discover approaches to whole-hearted living and develop every-day tools to nurture personal freedom, wisdom and well-being.
